Grape Arbor Shade
When we moved to this property,
there were very few trees, so we made a couple of grape arbors to
provide quick shade. Both we and the birds enjoy the fruit.

Trees For Shade and Fruit
We have planted over 800 trees
and shrubs to provide shade; food for us, our waterfowl and wild birds;
and habitat for wildlife. This photo includes a row of 30' tall
mulberry trees that provide an abundance of berries that fall and are
eaten by our ducks and geese. Because these are seedlings, fruit
is produced over 8 to 10 weeks each summer.

Plum Trees
Many of our pens have fruit
trees in them which provide shade and windfall fruit for our waterfowl.
This orchard has plum, apple, cherry, persimmon and filbert trees.
